Through First Lady Baraka’s Newark Women Moving Forward Financial Freedom initiative, our mission is to empower, encourage and support women to achieve their full potential as well as to assist in facilitating their active involvement in community, business, employment and education. To assist with cultivating the lives of our women through professional development resources to be prepared for career opportunities. We seek to achieve this by harnessing the economic power of women by promoting social inclusion as we use our creativity to collaborate with others to improve the quality of life of women in the city of Newark. In close collaboration with Council President LaMonica McIver, Councilwoman-At-Large Louise Scott-Rountree and dynamic women leaders across the city, First Lady Baraka is building a comprehensive strategy to move Newark’s women and families forward.
